What is IVR?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

IVR<\/strong> stands for Interactive Voice Response<\/strong> and is also know by some as “On-Hold<\/em>“.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Essentially it’s the service you ‘interact’ with when you call a business and the phone is automatically answered.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The voice response may offer you options to select in order to reach a particular department or extension.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The service may also place you in a queue to be answered.  Often businesses take this time to make callers aware of additional services they offer that could be of interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
